Care to be Well
Our mission is to ensure you live more comfortable and healthy life, in strength and vitality.
SUPPORTING IMMUNITY
Strong immunity is needed to stay healthy, it is our natural shield that protects the body against harmful microorganisms. Meanwhile, the overwhelming stress associated with the spreading pandemic and the natural decline in immunity associated with the early spring period can reduce our immunity. It is therefore worth knowing which ingredients should be included in your diet to strengthen immunity. However, remember that strong immunity does not give us 100% protection against viruses.
Ginger and honey
These are popular spices added to a typical autumn tea – and no wonder!
Ginger has an antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral properties. It works similar to garlic, but it tastes better in tea.
Honey owes its healing properties primarily to antioxidants – polyphenols and organic acids – as well as bactericidal ingredients. By consuming honey, we also increase the production of cytokines, which are proteins necessary for cells that are involved in maintaining the body’s normal immune defense. Honey has a great effect on the respiratory system – moisturizes the throat and larynx, soothes irritations, but also dilates blood vessels, contributing to faster cough elimination.
Vitamin C
The daily dose of vitamin C for adults is about 100 mg, however, during periods of weakness or infection, the demand increases to about 1000 mg, then it is worth supplementing the diet with supplements. Vitamin C is most present in fruit and fruit teas , i.e. blackcurrant, lemon, strawberry, orange, grapefruit
Vitamin D
Vitamin D should be supplemented especially in the autumn and winter, because during this period the sun does not provide us with the right dose of vitamin D, due to lower exposure to solar radiation. Vitamin D is responsible for the production of anti-bacterial proteins and increases the number of T lymphocytes that protect us against viruses.
Probiotics
Probiotics are commonly called ” good bacteria “. They restore bacterial balance in the human mucosa, which can be disturbed by stress, improper diet or antibiotic therapy. The mucosa that covers the intestine contains lymphocytes, which are responsible for fighting the microorganisma that cause diseases and infections. If the right amount of “good bacteria” is not present in the mucosa, the body is more exposed to infection.
Please note that none of these products guarantees full protection against bacteria and viruses. However, it is worth including our herbal teas in your diet, especially in periods when we are particularly vulnerable, because they have a positive effect on the functioning of the immune system. To build strong immunity, in addition to healthy eating, it is important to sleep well, do sports regularly, and not expose yourself to stress.
